Look for an email from the Ohio Public Employees Retirement System (OPERS) regarding your OPERS choice. No action is needed to contribute to OPERS.
- is the retirement system for ¹ú²úÂ×Àí employees. Ten percent of your wages are automatically deducted for retirement; we do not withhold for Social Security. While working for ¹ú²úÂ×Àí, you will be automatically enrolled in OPERS. As a Graduate Appointee, you may exempt yourself from OPERS. You have 30 days from the start of your employment to complete the online exemption form. If you don’t complete the exemption form, you must contribute to OPERS. There will be no exceptions made to this rule.
