Minyoung Gil, Ph.D.
Biography
Dr. Minyoung Gil is an Assistant Professor in the School of Teaching, Learning and Curriculum Studies at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí. Her research develops along two interconnected strands. The first examines young children’s learning in science and engineering, with particular attention to engineering design, decision-making, and classroom interactions. The second focuses on preservice and in-service teacher education, especially with multicultural education, professional learning, and teachers’ use of emerging technologies such as generative AI to support play-based pedagogy. Across both strands, her work draws primarily on qualitative, video-based, and collaborative research approaches and is informed by her prior experience as a kindergarten teacher in South Korea.
