"My time at UAL completely changed the way I approach fashion design. We were encouraged to start with art, research and concept rather than immediately thinking about making clothing. That allowed us to really develop our ideas before figuring out how to translate them into a garment. For my final look, I used only reused and repurposed zero waste muslin and fabric scraps from Central Saint Martins. The piece was completely hand sewn and was inspired by the feeling of a body hugging or holding another person from the side. Being able to present the final look in our runway show at Central Saint Martins and see all of the research and ideas come together was such a rewarding way to end the program. I鈥檓 really grateful for everything I learned and the new way of thinking about design that I鈥檓 taking with me."
