June is Caregiver Month

This month, we've catered our offerings for caretakers. In honor of June being Alzheimer's Awareness Month, explore the Alzheimer's offering below. And, parents can explore movement ideas for their children this summer using resources in this newsletter.

 

Do What You Love

Do What You Love to End ALZ is a flexible fundraiser that starts with you doing something you love to support the Alzheimer's Association. No matter what your passion is, you can make it a fundraiser to end Alzheimer's. , and .

 

American Heart Association Heart Walk

Our goal is to have one person in every household confident and prepared to perform CPR. There's still time to register to take the first step in saving lives. Join the Employee Wellness team to help fundraise and/or participate in the walk on Saturday, June 6.

 

Important Wellness Update

We are excited to share that Madison Massey, Assistant Manager for Employee Wellness and Health Promotion, will be on maternity leave beginning later this month. Employee Wellness programming will still be in full swing, and Sheba Marshall, Executive Director, Employee Benefits and Wellness, will be available at smarsh45@kent.edu for questions while Madison is out.

 

An Active Summer

Parents play a big role in helping their children prepare mentally, physically, and emotionally for the upcoming school year. Explore these ideas from the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to give your child a healthy and active summer.

 

Movement Ideas for Parents

School's out for summer and what better way to celebrate than to get outside in the sunshine and get moving! Movement is an important part of development, strength-building, and overall health of children. The American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) provides some ideas for children of all ages:

AllOne Health is available 24/7 to you and members of your household, and offers up to six complimentary counseling sessions per person, per occurrence with face-to-face, telephonic, video or chat options. 

In addition to counseling services, the program provides a range of resources to support your overall well-being, including financial wellness services such as budgeting assistance, educational webinars focused on stress reduction and personal wellness, work-life support services, referrals for child and elder care, legal and financial consultations, and other tools designed to help you manage life's challenges both at work and at home.
