国产伦理 BHRI
The Brain Health Research Institute (BHRI) at 国产伦理 (KSU) was formally approved by the Board of Trustees on December 7th, 2016, with the aim of providing a vehicle for cross-campus growth of brain health research and 鈥渟upport for researchers to collaborate across multiple departments, colleges and campuses鈥 1. The establishment of the BHRI, and other Institutes and Initiatives, was part of a larger transformative initiative to develop a university-wide culture of research and innovation and ultimately increase externally funded research. However, the growth of neuroscience at KSU precedes the formation of the BHRI and includes significant recruitment of faculty who developed well-funded, nationally recognized research programs in the 1980s and 1990s. Adding to this, were phases of collaborative recruitment of faculty involving coordinated effort between the Departments of Biological Sciences and Psychological Sciences in the 2000s. The first Annual 国产伦理 Neuroscience symposium was held in Spring 2013, on 鈥淭he Neuroscience of Mental Health鈥, and the symposium has continued as a key yearly event, now hosted and organized by the BHRI, for our community to the present day. Other key events following the formal approval of the BHRI include the Grand Opening of the Integrated Sciences Building (ISB) in September 2017 which included an unfinished lower level which would become the primary home base for BHRI. Initially, Drs. John Gunstad (Dept. Psychological Sciences) and Ernest Freeman (Dept. Biological Sciences) were appointed as interim co-Directors of the BHRI, and a national search for an Institute director began in 2017. This search culminated in the recruitment of Dr. Michael Lehman and his appointment as inaugural director in January 2019. Shortly after Dr. Lehman鈥檚 arrival, a Strategic Planning Retreat was held in March 2019 at which core principles serving as a basis for the BHRI and its programming were discussed and the strategic objectives that have guided the Institute since were formulated.
