Share your story. Shape what comes next.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s golden future begins with the people who make this university what it is — and the stories, experiences and ideas that continue to shape our path forward.

As we look to ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s next chapter, we are reviewing feedback from the Golden Future Survey and continuing to collect the stories that reflect what makes ¹ú²úÂ×Àí special through Every Flash Has a Story.

Together, these reflections will help us celebrate where we’ve been and envision what comes next.

Share Your ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Story

Through the Every Flash Has a Story collection, we are gathering the moments, memories and experiences that connect generations of Golden Flashes. From forever friendships and lasting love to career milestones, meaningful mentorship and community connections, these stories create a living portrait of ¹ú²úÂ×Àí — why we chose it, what we love most about it and how our experiences here have shaped our lives.

Students make their way across the Kent Campus on the first day of classes.

Sarah Shendy
Class of 2006

Every time I visit ¹ú²úÂ×Àí, I can’t help but think that that one decision I made to go to the police academy turned into this. And by "this," I mean a life that I don’t need a break from, a profession that I love, and a career full of good stories and fulfillment.

Kerry Wagner
Class of 1996

There is no place like home, and ¹ú²úÂ×Àí is home to me.

Thomas Haren
Classes of 1978 and 1987

I got my dream job, teaching life science and biology and sharing my passion with thousands of students. It never seemed like work because I enjoyed every day of teaching.

Joseph Vignos
Class of 1995

I got to live in Denmark as an exchange student, and after getting my MA in 1995, I went on to teach in the Middle East and Asia. I met my wife while teaching in Japan.

Aseel Bondagjy
Class of 2018

My education at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí laid the foundation for everything I have gone on to achieve. The knowledge and mindset I developed there continue to drive the strategic, collaborative and results-driven approach I bring to leadership today.
