Outstanding costume, sound and lighting design, plus much more contribute to award-winning theatre productions, and students in ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s School of Theatre and Dance are exhibiting creative excellence in those areas.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s Student Recreation and Wellness Center's annual facility shutdown is scheduled for Saturday, May 12, through Sunday, May 20. During this time, the Student Recreation and Wellness Center will be closed to all patrons.

On Monday, April 23, LaunchNET ¹ú²úÂ×Àí celebrated its 5th annual Entrepreneur Awards and Expo event at Ray’s Place. In addition to celebrating the accomplishments of LaunchNET ¹ú²úÂ×Àí clients over the course of the year, the staff awarded university partners, alumni clients, Launch Fund recipients and the winners of the inaugural Paul L. Pfeiffer Endowed Scholarship fund.

Kent has become well known for its eclectic mix of art, which continues to blossom in the downtown district through galleries, shops featuring a variety of local artists, live music events and public art. At Main Street Kent, the planning has begun for a new art-focused event series – the First Friday Art Walk.

The e-Inside newsletter will take a break between semesters. The May 7 issue is the last for the Spring 2018 Semester. e-Inside will resume June 11. Copy submissions for that issue should be emailed to einside@kent.edu by 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 4.

Matheus Priosti came a long way to find his purpose. Five thousand miles, in fact. The São Paulo, Brazil, native made the long journey from South America across the equator to arrive at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí in August 2016, and he has never looked back.

Great things happen when purposeful organizations collaborate. Officials from ¹ú²úÂ×Àí and New Castle Schools of Trades recently signed an articulation agreement that provides opportunities for graduates of the trade school to earn degrees from the university.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí students in the Advanced Television News Producing class have spent the semester learning the stories of middle school students at Cleveland’s Daniel E. Morgan School and within the Hough community.
