Undergraduate Opportunities
SPCS offers a Bachelor of Arts in Peace and Conflict Studies, which prepares students for careers or graduate study in such fields as conflict management, social sciences, dispute resolution, and human services. The School also offers two minors: Negotiation, Mediation and Conflict Management (previously Peace and Conflict Studies), and Environment, Peace and Justice (new in Fall 2023).
Core courses offered by the SPCS give students a solid background in the theory and in the applied skills of peacebuilding and conflict management. These skills are useful in a wide variety of work settings, life settings, and relationship settings. Mastering peacebuilding and conflict management skills helps students both professionally and personally, in the short-term and long-term.
As part of their course of study, majors have opportunities to utilize and deepen their knowledge of peace and conflict studies as they engage in research in the field or work as interns with professionals in mediation centers, courts, schools, ombuds offices, businesses, personnel management offices, government agencies, community organizations, and human services organizations.
Other undergraduate opportunities offered by the SPCS include the 3+3 Law School Program and a variety of internships. Course descriptions and schedules are also available for those curious.
