¹ú²úÂ×Àí will hold its annual Veterans Day Commemoration at 11 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 7, in the Kent Student Center Kiva. This year’s guest speaker is Lt. Col. Colleen VanNatta. A graduate of ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s Air Force ROTC detachment, VanNatta served as a media escort for joint information bureaus in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, and Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, during Operation Desert Storm.

As the champagne flowed Oct. 15 in the clubhouse of the National League Champion Washington Nationals, there was a ¹ú²úÂ×Àí connection in the middle of the frenzy that capped the team’s first trip to the World Series.

On Saturday, Sept. 21, the ¹ú²úÂ×Àí fight song blared down Main Street, the city of Kent was flooded with blue and gold, alumni and friends gathered and reminisced about their ¹ú²úÂ×Àí days, fans packed the stadium to cheer on their beloved Golden Flashes and the entire campus boomed with ¹ú²úÂ×Àí pride.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí will hold the 49th commemoration of the historic events of May 4, 1970, where protesting students, observers and soldiers gathered on that fateful day when the Ohio National Guard shot and killed four students and wounded nine others on the Kent Campus.
Mother-Daughter Duo Go Through ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Geauga Nursing Program Together
Ronda McCaskey and Caitlyn Horvath are best friends who went through the nursing program together and graduated one year apart with Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degrees from ¹ú²úÂ×Àí at Geauga. Now they are both intensive care nurses. But they also happen to be mother and daughter.
