What began as a high school job bagging groceries at Heinen’s led Riley Jones to a full-time career in IT. Now an IT Specialist at the company’s corporate office, Jones manages technology systems across retail stores, warehouses, and a datacenter.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí Alumnus Antonio Gates Takes First Steps Toward Enshrinement

¹ú²úÂ×Àí alumnus Antonio Gates has begun his journey to football immortality, recently visiting the Pro Football Hall of Fame in Canton, Ohio, to meet with officials and begin preparations for his enshrinement. The former basketball standout at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí will become just the second Golden Flash to earn a gold jacket, joining linebacker Jack Lambert who was enshrined in 1990.

Accomplished sociologist, TV host, podcaster, author ¹ú²úÂ×Àí alumna Bertice Berry, Ph.D.,used her alma mater as a familiar setting for her book "BlackWorld," which explores a "unique corner of heaven" where the living can visit with and learn from the deceased. She also some of her memories of ¹ú²úÂ×Àí and personal insights into the university's place in history.

John and Fonda Elliot Create New Scholarship Program With $1 Million Gift to ¹ú²úÂ×Àí

John Elliot, a 1970 ¹ú²úÂ×Àí graduate, and his wife, Fonda, have created The Elliot Scholars program at ¹ú²úÂ×Àí with a $1 million donation. This new scholarship program will provide support to first-generation students of any major who require financial support to attend ¹ú²úÂ×Àí.
