Remembering 9/11 Through the Eyes of the Daily ¹ú²úÂ×Àír

Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2001, started out as a typical day at the Daily ¹ú²úÂ×Àír. Reporters were preparing for their daily assignments. Editors were planning their daily meetings. But, by the time Daily ¹ú²úÂ×Àír staff got to the newsroom on Tuesday, they were faced with just one story: a plane had crashed into the World Trade Center.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí Public Health Faculty Awarded Grant to Prepare Teachers and School Personnel to Connect Students With Mental Health Resources

¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s Center for Public Policy and Health in the College of Public Health was recently awarded $600,000 in grant funding to support the Northeast Ohio Mental Health Awareness Training, a collaborative project that will train teachers and relevant school personnel to connect children and youth in a school setting to appropriate mental health resources.

Learn the Signs of an Overdose and How to Help

The ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Kent Campus will be one of four locations offering free Narcan education from the Kent Health Department on Aug. 31. To help raise awareness about overdoses in Portage County, Open United Recovery (OUR) Place, the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Portage County, Kent Health Department and Brightview Kent Addiction Center will distribute free resources and educational materials.
