¹ú²úÂ×Àí Board of Trustees Approves Establishing New Bachelor of Social Work Degree
The ¹ú²úÂ×Àí Board of Trustees approved the establishment of the Bachelor of Social Work degree during the Board’s regular quarterly meeting held March 8. The new degree was developed based on the high demand for licensed social workers within the areas surrounding ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s Regional Campuses.

¹ú²úÂ×Àí President Todd Diacon updated the university community on recent actions regarding the appointment of Sean Broghammer, Ph.D., as ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s new vice president for enrollment management.
PNC Foundation Awards $75,000 to ¹ú²úÂ×Àí
The PNC Foundation has awarded $75,000 to ¹ú²úÂ×Àí to help ensure success among students who commonly face barriers in college. This grant aligns with PNC’s focus on addressing economic inequality among Black American and low- to moderate-income communities, and it will provide resources for students that will help them complete college and establish a strong foundation on which to build their careers.
¹ú²úÂ×Àí Wins Award for Excellence in Integrating International Education Throughout University
¹ú²úÂ×Àí is the sole university in the U.S. to receive the prestigious 2022 Senator Paul Simon Award for Comprehensive Internationalization from NAFSA: Association of International Educators. The honor recognizes ¹ú²úÂ×Àí for overall excellence in integrating international education throughout all facets of the university and its campuses.
¹ú²úÂ×Àí and Cleveland State Partner to Shorten Time Students Need for Bachelor’s, Law Degrees
¹ú²úÂ×Àí has established a new partnership with Cleveland State University’s Cleveland-Marshall College of Law to offer students two pathways to obtain a bachelor’s degree from ¹ú²úÂ×Àí and a law degree from CSU in six years. The new 3+3 program will shorten the length of time typically needed to complete both degrees.

The Carnegie Classification of Institutions of Higher Education has awarded ¹ú²úÂ×Àí the esteemed R1 status for research, which is the highest recognition that doctoral universities can receive. The prestigious designation affirms ¹ú²úÂ×Àí’s place as an elite research institution and puts the university in the company of universities such as Yale, Harvard and the University of California-Berkeley.
